The fragment series that make up the elegy, Music of the Wide Lane, might best be described as text(iles) woven and unwoven with the help of Quantum physics (particularly, string theory). Figures from Greek mythology and the Hebrew Bible, as well as Sophocles, Aristotle, the medieval Iberian Hebrew poet Yehuda Halevi, American modernists Emily Dickinson and Wallace Stevens mingle in these poems. Both within the poems and outside them, the poet narrator changes gender with each voice; sometimes the voices change gender as their words form in her physical mouth; the past becomes present and the present, the past.
