Superbloom is dedicated to my son Austen who passed at age 18. I listened to Austen’s playlist (from Fleetwood Mac to Tyler, The Creator to Young the Giant and Kendrick Lamar), Debussy, and Bach, while writing this work. How do I not cry while reading, you might ask? I cried plenty while writing each poem in the book; one, which foresaw his death, led to a panic attack. However, I rarely cry when reading. Everything I do now is easier than losing Austen.
