Anaphora

plunging
with you

through
the thick

Roman air
every night

for a year
falling into

the story
a stampede

racing
to earth

each syllable
uncoiled

our bodies
left

for the night
to rip into

ragged
with breathing

the future
maybe

a few more
moments

everything breaking
what put us

here
