No Elegy


itís early
the dead still
unnamed
harm
at its apogee
screams
quiet
in throats
the lion and the gazelle
frozen
in the tall grass
grief
embryonic
fingers
lifted
over keys
here
nothing
has happened
heads
nestle in pillows
still attached
to necks
here
there is
nothing
yet
to grieve
