Neighborhood Border, Oakland

A private school
on the one corner,
a public school
on the other. The term for
each grouping of youth
is pool, as in talent
or labor. Catchment.

To reach the Office
of Enrollment, press four.
To reimagine,
hang up, forever.
Think of a river
instead. Of the current’s
pull. Of more.
