the real problem is doubt

resistance is such a strange pantomime
the will pushing a wheelbarrow
full of rocks up a hill before twilight
I donít know where the mind goes

I love a story as much as the next guy
but some of these boulevards
end in unfriendly places
I canít predict much
though I can say with confidence
the starting gun has fired
plotlines are freezing
characters are thawing
maybe Iíll even stumble upon a guarantee
somewhere above the cloud line

I keep saying everything is fuel
when I should be processing spreadsheets
my calculator blazing like haleyís comet
well I say should
I donít know what that means
maybe itís as simple as
the last few hours got the best of me
